The VHS release included an infomercial before the movie that talks about receiving donations needed to relocate the star orca, Keiko, back to the ocean. It also included appearances from Jason James Richter, August Schellenberg and the Donners as well as interviews with former Oregon Coast Aquarium president Phyllis A. Bell, and Keiko's former trainer Karla Corral. In addition, there is information on the "Free Willy Keiko Adoption Kit" which came with a Free Willy poster, stickers, a newsletter on how Keiko was being rehabilitated, and a replica of Jesse's whale necklace. The kit only cost $24.99, and many people all over the world had donated.
When the helicopter arrives to rescue them from the burning oil, it's suddenly dark out. It wouldn't take the rescue helicopter several hours to either locate or rescue them, so it couldn't have been evening/late at night. Sometime later with the oil spill cleaned up, Willy, Luna and Littlespot reunite with Catspaw. On Jesse's signal, Willy is able to break the boom and leads his siblings out of the cove. When word gets out and Luna is dying from the oil in her lungs having swum through it, Benbrook Oil CEO John Milner arrives and announces a plan to move the whales into captivity until further notice. Jesse challenges this, making Milner promise to do whatever he can to get them safely back to their mom or else he'll be blamed for Luna's death, to which Milner seemingly agrees. Filming commenced in Astoria, Oregon and the San Juan Islands between April and August 1994 with additional filming taking place in California. Teenager Jesse becomes reunited with Willy two years after the whale's jump to freedom as the teenager tries to rescue. Will usually ship within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment.
The only song not included is "My Spirit Calls Out" that Randolph performed when he treated Luna. Free Willy 2 grossed $30 million in the United States and Canada and $68 million worldwide on a $31 million budget. With the oil spill reaching dangerous proximity to the cove, Benbrook Oil and the whalers boom it off despite Jesse, Randolph and Nadine's objections and begin extracting the whales. Elvis returns in time to warn Jesse and they expose Milner's plot which lead to them knocking him and his assistant into the water for breaking their promise. When Jesse meets up with the Orca friend he liberated two years earlier, an offshore oil spill forces them into another race-against-time adventure. They have to band together to save Willy and his family by getting them back into the open ocean. He ultimately slips out and falls back into the ocean, just inches away from the helicopter and, due to smoke choking the engine, it is forced to leave him behind. My feelings on this are simple, i thought the first one was great, second was great. The lowest-priced brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging . Please don't scroll past this—the Internet Archive is growing rapidly, and we need your help.
Glen and Annie, who just found Elvis on the Little Dipper, hop aboard the Natselane to follow the kids' path as Randolph sends a distress signal. A search and rescue helicopter locates them, and Elvis and Nadine are retracted to safety. However, the Little Dipper then submerges completely, leaving Jesse struggling in the oily water, and unable to secure himself sufficiently in the harness.
Soon after rehabilitation, Keiko was freed in the same area in Norway where he was assumed to first be captured and eventually lived to be 29 years old. Making him the second oldest orca to have lived in captivity. When Jesse's half-brother Elvis arrives, he is morose, overly talkative and mischievous, and he is also prone to telling lies and easily gets on Jesse's nerves. The next day, Luna's condition worsens despite receiving treatment from Kate Haley. But Randolph and Jesse eventually use an old Indian remedy that helped her recover.
